Affordable Health Insurance: Are you on your own?

health insurance coverageOne of the more interesting aspects regarding self employed health insurance is that individuals and families are welcome to investigate the coverage that is available. When independent contractors have no other recourse to locate health insurance coverage, this becomes the opportunity of choice. This type of health insurance is also a viable recourse for the many small business owner operators who are basically on the cusp of their new business. What is really interesting is that insurance protection for this particular group of entrepreneurs began in the 1950s, but remained dormant for many years since.

In recent years, the clamoring for affordable health insurance has been tremendous and many of the independent contractors have taken a second look at the insurance that was created for them in mind. It is a fact that this is very expensive insurance coverage, but most will have no other viable option. Perhaps you were accustomed to the salary deduction for corporate group health insurance coverage. When this is the case, individuals who decide to take the plunge in owning and operating their own business, are in for a very rude awakening.

Unfortunately, self employed health insurance or health insurance of any caliber is often discounted when an individual wants to begin his or her own business. It does not take long for the importance of equitable health insurance coverage to rise to the forefront. Many individual entrepreneurs will soon be spending more time in locating a viable health insurance than operating the new business. This can become frustrating when too much time is spent. Other entrepreneurs will turn to a health insurance agent because of the wide access they possess.

When an individual entrepreneurs makes an appointment with an insurance agent, it is important to have all the necessary information ready. Talk with the insurance agent and explain that you are willing to carry a high annual deductible in order to reduce the cost paid on a monthly basis. Explain to the insurance agent any pre-existing medical conditions that are applicable and that you are interested in the most affordable health insurance policy possible with the maximum amount of insurance coverage.

On the brighter side, the insurance policy that you purchase will become tax deductible annually, which is still a step up from purchasing an individual health insurance policy that is not tax deductible. As long as the insurance policy is tied to the entrepreneurial business that you have started, you are permitted to deduct the monthly premiums paid throughout the year.

Difficulties with Affordable Health Insurance

difficulties with affordable health insurance

One of the major difficulties with self employed health insurance are individuals who call themselves insurance agents and talk you into an expensive health insurance policy that will offer you very limited health care coverage.

Unfortunately, most entrepreneurs do not realize what is contained in their new health insurance policy until a major incident occurs. This is not the time you want to find out your insurance policy does not cover you except for the catastrophic medical incidents. Now you are going to be held responsible for the majority of your medical expenses because you took the word of the insurance agent instead of making the time to read the insurance policy for yourself. Most of the small business owners and self employed entrepreneurs along with the family members are uninsured because of the tragic rise in the current cost of a self employed health insurance policy.

These are individuals who were forced to drop the health insurance coverage they tried desperately to maintain until the cost became too far out of reach. Now they are among the uninsured playing a game of beat the clock against the next major illness or unforeseen accident. The only self employed or small business owners that will be spared for a short period of time are those who are new to this new adventure. Most of the individuals who were employed with a corporate employer may have enrolled in the corporation COBRA health insurance plan and this could be the only redeeming feature for the immediate.

What it will offer is affordable health insurance coverage at a price for a period of up to eighteen months before it will expire. Whether you as an independent contractor are offered this short-term luxury will depend upon the state, you reside because the cost for COBRA health insurance plans do vary from state to state. What are you suppose to do in this instance? It is one thing to let it ride when you live alone, but when there are children involved you have a responsibility and that can make life become very difficult.

The once interesting factor that pertains to this growing difficulty is that you are permitted to deduct the cost of your affordable health insurance policy when you are ready to file your annual Internal Revenue Form 1040. Perhaps one day this will begin to change. It will afford everyone real assistance with medical bills when requiring it the most.

Basic Coverage for Affordable Health Insurance

health insurance 101

Basic affordable health insurance sure does seem like such a simple common sense request from anyone when it comes to the purchasing of insurance. Yet, for the self employed entrepreneur, single individuals, and the small business owner, all seem to have the most difficult time in locating an insurance policy where they can afford the monthly premiums. This appears to be such a monumental task, but in reality, it does not have to be. Why do these individuals have such a difficult time attaining an insurance policy with basic medical coverage?

One of the main reasons why it is so difficult is because the health insurance provider has no way to judge what the annual cost for self employed health insurance will be based on the medical history of only one subscriber. The actual cost of an insurance policy will be predetermined by assessing the medical history of the individual requesting assistance. The actual coverage will be streamlined to appear more like a catastrophic health insurance policy, but it will contain medical coverage that is normally absent from a catastrophic health insurance policy such as medical prescription assistance.

Another factor to consider is if the not so affordable health insurance policy is only for the self employed entrepreneur or if there will be other family members added to the life of the annual insurance policy. Other factors that will predetermine the cost of the insurance policy will be the amount of deductible the self employed individual is prepared to carry during the life of the insurance policy. The way this works is the higher the deductible the lower the monthly premium will be, but the self employed entrepreneur must be assured he or she is prepared to continue making the monthly premium payments regardless of anything else that is occurring during the course of the year.

Self employed health insurance is very expensive, but it can be even more expensive when you are not enrolled in any insurance policy because now you are taking a great risk of losing everything you have been working for, including your personal place of residence. Every self employed entrepreneur and small business owner needs to try to acquire whatever type of medical insurance coverage that is possible to lessen the cost of a medical catastrophe.

There are many health insurance providers that are completely equipped to walk you through the entire system and search for ways to offer you the insurance coverage that will be most beneficial to you and your family members. It will require time and patience on your part, but in the end, it will also offer you peace of mind.

Saving money for Affordable Health Insurance

saving money for affordable health insurance

Life has been going along at a pretty good clip during the past few years. You have had the time required to work hard and attain a good position with a traditional company while making a livable salary. Then what you have dreaded happens to you and you find yourself out of employment due to the slowdown in the economy. Your employer sponsored affordable health insurance only has a continued life span of thirty days before it expires.

The current prospects are slim to none in the hopes of locating another employment position with another traditional company. Where can you turn to purchase an insurance policy that will fit into your lowered income? Most short-term temporary self employed health insurance plans will last for six months, but there is always the option to continue the coverage for an additional six months when it become necessary. However, once you become a subscriber, you must understand that short-term insurance is not a cost saver.
Short-term insurance is very expensive and not everyone can afford the monthly premium payments so it does present a difficulty.

The traditional temporary self employed health insurance policy offers insurance coverage for catastrophic medical emergencies rather than the day-to-day medical physician office visits. This will become more of a difficulty when there are children involved and require monthly physician office visits for school inoculations and for pre-existing medical treatments.

One of the more virtuous moves with the insurance providers is that when there are children involved, they will direct those families trying to exist on unemployment to the state health insurance providers. Regardless, nothing will reduce the anything but affordable health insurance to make it more affordable to all who are considering enrollment as a last resort.

Every individual needs to understand that temporary insurance or short-term insurance is available at a cost for the coverage of catastrophic events and not for the daily routine medical physician visits. Any medical situation that will arise that is not considered catastrophic will have to be paid in full from your out of pocket expenses. Depending on your financial status, this may or may not be a problem on a short-term basis. A few of the issues to take under consideration before enrolling with short-term health insurance NY options are:

1.The involvement of pre-existing medical conditions with you and family members
2.How high will the insurance deductible be for a six month period
3.Are you prepared to pay for preventive care out of pocket
4.Question the insurance provider for standard coverage regarding surgery, medical prescriptions, emergency assistance, and other issues

Impact of Affordable Health Insurance on Medical Graduates

affordable health insurance medical practitioner

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has begun its reach across the country. The new pathway of tentacles are reaching through every part of every day life. It is expected that it will conclude January 2018. There does not seem to be any discussions on how the current students are being trained and advised. Are they being prepared to deal with the new form of self employed health insurance delivery system?

Are the medical students of today being prepared to fit into the world of medicine that is being integrated today? There is so much integration into the current medical system that the students need to be enlightened or they run the risk of not succeeding. What is unfortunate is the change in standards that comes midstream for many of the students.
Self employed health insurance delivery and the medical science was never meant to be as difficult as it has become for many of the students. This is especially evident with those who are performing duties in residency. This is going to add to the difficulties that we are already experiencing rather than to reduce or eliminate the difficulties.

The major focus of the changes are with those students who have stopped and are training under non-hospital settings rather than in the traditional hospital setting. This may be a focus because we will no longer have a need for well-trained medical physicians under the united health insurance that we are implementing into our current medical health system and in conjunction with the various affordable health insurance providers.

After all, the focus is to bring down the cost and not with the quality of care that will be delivered to future patients. This new way to practice medicine went into effect in July 2010, but it is going to be some time yet before any statistical data sees the light of day. The new form of medical care and insurance will become evident as the citizens learn it is really the final step before the government run single payer insurance covets the entire country.

Where will all the medical students of today that intend to focus in on a specialized field of medicine go when they find this country is only going to administer required affordable health insurance to those with uncomplicated injuries and illnesses. Perhaps a percentage will remain in the country and adapt to the current medical trend of care. Others will eventually gain successful employment outside of the country. How will this help the citizenry in this county in the future?

Does It Help to have Self Employed Health Insurance?

self-employed-health-insurance

Why is it important to have Self Employed Health Insurance?

Have you ever wondered why self employed health insurance is so popular with certain groups of individuals? Could it be because these individuals have an opportunity to be more in control of their insurance and their life without having to read all the different guidebooks offering lifestyle changes?  This certainly is not insurance for everyone because of the obvious additional cost to subscribers who are already paying for a traditional insurance policy.

The one main feature that older citizens appreciate is the fact that they have some control over their own medical destiny. The majority of the traditional affordable health insurance policies are more dictatorial and leave very little room for the subscriber to make necessary decisions. The only decision an individual has with the traditional insurance policies is whether to pay the entire expense out of pocket when it is affordable enough or to fill out the claim form and send it in to the insurance provider.
The one major factor to understand is that the higher you can afford the deductible to be, the lower the monthly out of pocket premium payments will be.

What are the choices in Self Employed Health Insurance?

You can choose from a range of self employed health insurance options to decide which insurance plan will best cover your medical requirements. Of course, it does help when you have a complete understanding of the medical issues you are facing. You can always call or stop by your local family medical physician’s office and request a complete copy of the medical records that are on file. This will offer the insurance provider more accurate information with dates and time of each medical occurrence.

If you are really interested and you have the time, the health savings account may also serve your medical requirements and will offer you more freedom from the mundane. The health savings account affordable health insurance will come with a disclaimer of sorts because unless you maintain a high deductible and keep a given amount, up to two thousand five hundred dollars per year, in your account, the benefits will not be there to help you when you require the medical assistance.

How can I make my choices?

Before you decide to do anything, it will be worth your while to make an appointment and discuss your options with the insurance for self employed providers before making any decisions. You need to take some time and investigate to see if this will even be beneficial for you. These are not easy choices and you could wind up deep in dept over a medical mishap costing you hundreds of thousands of dollars. No one wants this to happen.

Self Employed Health Insurance Care Issues

self employed health insurance

What is the common problem with Self Employed Health Insurance Care?

In the business world of today’s markets, there are millions of small business owners and self employed entrepreneurs who lack the benefits afforded to most individuals regarding affordable self employed health insurance coverage. The misconception with the mass population is that the uninsured are the nineteen year old, other young adults, and the senior citizens within our states and country. This misconception could not be further from the truth because it is the small business owners and the self employed entrepreneurs who lack any insurance coverage.

What is the reason why there is a problem with Self Employed Health Insurance Care System?

The main reason for this dilemma is of course the ever-climbing cost for medical insurance self employed in general and the accessibility. This is especially true for the self employed entrepreneurs more than any other group of individuals.  Most other groups of individuals can be afforded an affordable health insurance policy because the insurance provider has a large group of individuals to calculate out a workable insurance plan based on the application forms of each individual.

This does not hold true in the case of the self employed, but because of the increasing numbers, the insurance providers are beginning to offer a specially designed self employed health insurance to accommodate the millions that are involved. Even with this olive leaf approach to the self employed entrepreneur from the insurance providers, the cost for enrollment into this policy is still out of reach for the millions of self employed who continue to struggle.

Of course, part of the fear is with the rumors that continue to swirl with regards to the small business. The small businesses with fewer than fifty employees will not be subject to the affordable health insurance mandate that goes into effect in January 2014. The affordable care act will however pertain to the self employed entrepreneurs regardless of how much or how little annual income they produce. This will cause difficulties for many of the self employed and they will have to search and find the answers.

So what to expect?

What will become available to the self employed entrepreneur is the state health exchanges that are mandated to be inventoried and open for business when 2014 rolls around. This will be an opportunity for the self employed entrepreneur to purchase a low cost insurance for self employed policy through the new state exchanges, which will be operated as a group insurance policy.

Though this may not be the most appropriate approach for all self employed entrepreneurs, it will offer assistance to the majority so that they will be able to continue moving forward. The next option will be to stop doing what they enjoy and seek employment with a formal corporation until they can get back on their feet.

Self Employed Health Insurance and Affordable Health Insurance, Rising Insurance Premiums

The Patient Affordable Health Insurance Care Act

What to expect in the new Affordable Health Insurance policy?

The people were informed over a year ago that when the passage of The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act became the law of the land there would be changes. One of the changes that were explained was in respect to the out of control annual self employed health insurance policy. As we take our time and look back on it now, we must wonder where it all went wrong? There is not one insurance policy that was spared the rise in the annual cost and there are a few insurance policies that have doubled and tripled in cost.

Even the most rudimentary annual affordable health insurance policy has continued to increase in cost and without any explanation. How can this be when all along we were expressly told the cost for insurance and the cost for all health care would decrease in cost? Well, they say the proof is in the pudding and this bowl of pudding appears to be very fluid as the government tries to get a grasp on the high, out of control costs.
As each day comes to a close, there are more individuals and families that are discontinuing their private self employed health insurance coverage because of unforeseen circumstances. These are the individuals and families that will be sitting in the emergency room of the local community hospitals all across the country.

What will happen to us?

As more individuals and families join the ranks of the unemployed, the employer is no longer obligated to continue medical coverage. As more families have breadwinners who are among the unemployed and who is protecting and looking out for the children. The children have no say so as to what is going to happen unless they are in their teen years.

Will the state be expected to afford a basic state run affordable health insurance for individuals to cover the health requirements of the children? Will the mother and father be placed on a sliding scale cost factor in order to continue the medical insurance coverage for their children? When will the overall cost of insurance begin to reduce down to an acceptable level that the majority of individuals and families can afford to fit into the monthly budget?

What is the government doing to prevent this?

Perhaps it is possible that the federal government really is unable to control the insurance for self employed costs and the medical care without mandating the removal of the technology we have grown accustomed. This is where much of the rising cost is centered around. The technology that is permitted to remain functional will be with strict limits unlike today. What will the medical health community have to say in this arena?

Self Employed Health Insurance and Affordable Health Insurance, Nursing Home or Remain Employed

nursing home

Will it be Nursing home or Remain Employed for you?

Our senior population continues to be at risk from emotional abuse and physical abuse and very little attention is paid to this ever-expanding problem within our communities. Have you researched how many seniors still maintain a business far beyond the retirement years? Have you tried having a discussion with your self employed health insurance provider for suggestions?

This would be a valuable opportunity to begin because the insurance provider has a better idea of the medical landscape and can offer reputable suggestions for you to explore. When you try to gather information through the internet, you will find a listing of insurance agents by state for you to look through. The problem with this is that you should not believe what you read right away.

What will be your criteria to make a decision?

The self employed health insurance that is offered in one state may not be the same in the next state. The best way to approach this difficult problem is to make an appointment to visit and talk with a few of the insurance providers. You may even be given a tour of the local major medical facilities, but it is really the staff members you will want to talk with in order to gather information.

Women’s health insurance requirements appear to be more of a health risk than men’s health, although reports of varied behavior is on the rise with both. The information you may research through the internet will not reveal the current affordable health insurance activity because there are many cases that are still pending for court finalization. Deciding whether it is time to live in a nursing home because of major complications or continue to operate your business can be a difficult decision.

Will Affordable Health Insurance help with the expenses?

Most of the candidates eligible for life in a nursing home are enrolled with a long-term insurance policy and have some provisions with their long time insurance policy. Yet, it will still require the help of other family members to furnish the additional funds to pay for the average affordable health insurance. This can become a very expensive adventure for family members, but a necessary step for those families that find it as the only valid answer.
Family members who are willing and able may have to decide to continue the daily operation of the business. Talk with the staff providers about the current medications and policies they hold. When there is a change in medication, ask to speak with the visiting medical physician for the validity. Continue to have regular discussions with all the medical health physicians and NY health insurance providers that are involved with your mother or father’s case to remain abreast of all ongoing issues.

Blue Shield of CA, Explaining Increases

blueshield cross

Why is there an increase in Blue Shield of CA?

How is Blue Shield of CA going to have the ability to explain why the family insurance policies and the remaining individual insurance policies have increased in the annual premium? The coverage is either remaining the same or diminishing in certain areas and the prescription medication coverage is tightening up as to what is permitted coverage and what is not permitted coverage. When you think about it, the insurance rate increases cannot be helped in one sense because of the shuffling of how the coverage will be distributed.
The health insurance brokers are now mandated by the federal government, the Internal Revenue Service to be specific. The affordable care act has in effect, discontinued individual insurance coverage in lieu of expanding the family insurance coverage. All children are permitted to remain on the family insurance policy until the age of twenty-six and this move is costing the insurance providers millions of dollars.

What are other things that we need to think of?

Another difficulty for the insurance providers is the acceptance of all children up to the age of twenty-six who have been diagnosed with one or more pre-existing condition. Granted not all pre-existing conditions are considered serious medical afflictions, but the cost for chronic medical health care over a period of years can become tremendous. The rules of the affordable care act are definitely changing all the people have become accustomed and that does include the medical community and the health insurance providers.
The first to make the newspaper headlines with the high increases regarding subscriber insurance policies was Anthem Health Insurance. Rates were increased substantially within a six-month period to help compensate for the individual insurance policies that were soon to be discontinued. The insurance providers are being left with no alternative because they are being mandated to absorb much of the cost they would not ordinarily absorb.

What will happen with the insurance companies?

The insurance providers must now absorb the cost of all annual medical health physician visits for all of their subscribers and this is a very destructive move for the health insurance providers to absorb. Another major concern for the insurance providers is with the senior citizens that they provide supplemental insurance coverage because this too will soon become a part of the past.
Again, with the affordable care act, the supplemental health insurance for individuals in the age range of sixty-five and older is in jeopardy. This too will be a heavy loss for the various insurance providers because they will lose valuable revenue. The loss of revenue will be substantial and how they collectively maintain the ability to stay in business is unknown at this point in time.
